Tension between the army & the Israeli occupation government & Halevy announced that it bears responsibility for the failure on October 7

The tension is increasing as the Israeli war on the #Gaza Strip proceeds, between the army and the occupation government, in light of the failure to resolve the war after 7 months, especially with Hamas taking control of areas in the Gaza Strip from which the occupation army had withdrawn.

Israeli reports indicate that the occupation army asked Benjamin Netanyahu to decide on the issue of the day after the war, and to find alternatives for Hamas to rule the Gaza Strip.

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, quoting a senior Israeli official, said that Hamas is still an organized military force inside the Gaza Strip, and can threaten a future alternative.

According to the newspaper, the occupation army believes that it is paying heavy prices by returning to areas such as the Jabalia camp and the Zaytoun neighborhood, after it had invaded and withdrew from them, and in this context, it refers to the killing of five soldiers, at the end of last week.

According to the newspaper, the Israeli army expected in advance the return of Hamas forces to areas from which its forces were withdrawing.

According to the newspaper, the options proposed by the occupation army to replace Hamas are: the Palestinian Authority, “moderate” parties from within the Gaza Strip with the support of Arab countries, and the third option is Israeli military rule, which the occupation army describes as unreasonable because it requires the occupation of the Gaza Strip and its economic and security costs are high.

The newspaper quoted a senior Israeli officer as saying, “There are no magic solutions. The most important thing is to make a decision, and not to make a decision that drags us into the current reality, and we return to the same places again and again because no decisions are made.”

Yesterday, Channel 13 broadcast warnings from the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Herzi Halevy, to Netanyahu, about the repercussions of not making strategic decisions and the absence of a political process in Gaza in parallel with the military attack on the Gaza Strip, to form an alternative governing body to the Hamas movement.

In this context, Halevy said, on Sunday evening, that he, as an official of the occupation army, “bears responsibility for the failure of the Israeli army in its mission of protecting the settlers on the seventh of last October.”

Halevy added that he feels “the weight of responsibility on his shoulders every day and realizes its meaning.”
