The continued power outage in Gaza for over 16 months, along with the recent cutoff of the limited electricity supply to the Deir al-Balah desalination plant, constitutes a war crime that threatens a catastrophic water crisis in Gaza.

Using water and food as weapons against innocent civilians is a dangerous escalation, part of a systematic effort to deepen the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.

The government of terrorist Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, continues to commit unprecedented collective punishment against more than two million people in Gaza.

For the 11th consecutive day, the blockade of food, humanitarian aid, and medical supplies, along with the cutting of water and electricity, represents a grave violation of the ceasefire agreement and a blatant breach of international humanitarian law.

The international community’s silence and failure to fulfill its moral and legal responsibilities, along with its disregard for reports and calls from humanitarian organizations—including Amnesty International’s recent demand to prevent Israel from using water as a weapon of war—only embolden the occupation to persist in its crimes.

We call on Arab nations, the United Nations, and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to stop these atrocities, enforce immediate measures to end the blockade on Gaza, and hold Israeli leaders accountable for their crimes before international justice.
