🚨WHY TRUMP’S PLAN TO SHUT DOWN THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FACES MAJOR HURDLES

Trump wants to shut down the U.S. Department of Education, calling it a “bloated bureaucracy” and pledging to “put control back in the states.”

But dismantling it could be a legal nightmare: the Department controls billions in K-12 funding and oversees $2 trillion in federal student loans.

Even with GOP support, Trump would need 60 votes in the Senate—making it nearly impossible without Democratic backing.

Experts say scaling back federal programs is more likely than closing the entire Department outright.
