EXCLUSIVE: Turkish officials to Clash Report on Astana Meeting with Iran and Russia tomorrow:

— The regime’s failure to reconcile with its people, rising economic issues, terrorist activities, institutional dysfunction, and targeting of civilians have fueled the current events.

— Mistakes of 2011 must not be repeated. Reconciliation, not war, should be sought. Tensions must be reduced immediately, civilians and infrastructure must not be targeted, and the rights of minorities and diverse religious groups must be protected.

— The Astana process achieved a ceasefire, yet Assad failed to use the past seven years to establish peace with his people, the root cause of all issues. This mistake must not be repeated, and the regime cannot ignore the opposition.

— From this point onward, a political process between the regime and the opposition must be initiated. The regime must act realistically and make genuine efforts to reach an agreement with the opposition.

— A sustainable peace process must now begin. For Turkey, Syria’s territorial integrity and unity are paramount.

— The regime must reconcile with its people and establish an inclusive administration for all ethnic and religious groups to ensure stability and peace. Turkey stands ready to support this.

— There will be no compromise on counter-terrorism efforts.

🇸🇾🇮🇶 NO HELP FROM IRAQ: “Iraq has decided not to intervene in the events in Syria militarily”
— member of the Security and Defense Committee of the Council of Representatives of Iraq Yasser Iskander

As I said before, there are many videos of tough commanders abroad talking to soldiers about deployment to Syria … but in reality nothing happens.

Unless Assad’s army takes a stand nobody wants to help.
