Trump is gearing up for direct talks with Putin, signaling a high-stakes move to end the devastating Ukraine war.

Trump’s team is pushing a controversial diplomatic path, calling it “unrealistic” to expel Russian forces from all Ukrainian territory, including Crimea.

Incoming national security adviser Mike Waltz described the conflict as a World War 1-style meat grinder with World War 3 consequences:

“Everybody knows that this has to end somehow diplomatically.

I just don’t think it’s realistic to say we’re going to expel every Russian from every inch of Ukrainian soil, even Crimea.
