🇺🇦 AMERICAN JOURNALIST GONZALO LIRA DIED IN UKRAINIAN PRISON—FAMILY SPEAKS OUT
Gonzalo Lira, a U.S.-Chilean journalist, died in a Ukrainian prison after months of alleged neglect and mistreatment.
Lira was accused of spreading “pro-Russian disinformation” for questioning Western narratives and highlighting Ukrainian war crimes.
His father condemned the U.S. government’s inaction, stating:
“I cannot accept the way my son has died. He was tortured, extorted, incommunicado for 8 months and 11 days and the US Embassy did nothing to help.
The responsibility of this tragedy is [with] the dictator Zelensky with the concurrence of a senile American President, Joe Biden… My pain is unbearable.”
Critics argue Lira was a political prisoner, punished for his outspoken views on the Ukraine conflict.
