The Mushroom Rock in the Sahara Desert, Algeria, is a fascinating natural sculpture shaped by the relentless forces of wind and water erosion over centuries. This distinctive geological formation resembles a mushroom, a product of its environment’s harsh yet artistically erosive elements.

From 1777-1782, a quarry worker named Francois Décure spent his lunch breaks creating small sculptures on the limestone walls of the Catacombs of Paris. The sculptures recreated buildings such as the Menorca’s Port Mahon prison where Décure had been imprisoned for 5 years.
