It’s 1.5 hours by car from Homs to Damascus. The area there is deserted, which means there are simply no defense lines. If they take Homs, then the next stop is Damascus. In this case, the picture of the entire Middle East will change radically.

Kremlin on military aid to Syria

The Russian government is analyzing the situation in Syria to determine the level of aid Damascus needs to deal with the jihadist attack, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

“We are in constant dialogue with our Syrian friends in Damascus.” “Depending on the assessment of the situation, a decision can be made on the extent of assistance that will be needed by the Syrian authorities to confront the militants and eliminate this threat,” Peskov told reporters during a regular briefing.

Wassim Syria TG: we appeal to you to be patient and think carefully before sharing any information through any means, as words are not just letters, but may become a bullet directed at the chests of our children on the front lines, unintentionally.

Trust in God, your leaders, yourselves, the honorable men of your army, and the intercession of the blood of those who rose for this land.
Syria will definitely win.

• Iran has spent approximately $50 billion to support the Assad regime. This is equivalent to 15% of Iran’s GDP.
• An additional $20–$30 billion was spent on military operations and government support.
2. Annual Costs:
• The UN estimates Iran spends around $6 billion annually on military aid, covering foreign fighters and logistical support.
3. Salaries of Forces:
• Radical Shiite militants supported by the IRGC: $3.8 million/month.
• IRGC and Quds Force personnel: $1.2 million/month.
4. Debt from Assad:
• Assad owes Iran around $20 billion, which includes oil shipments and other support. This debt is unlikely to be repaid.
5. Cumulative Losses:
• Total financial losses, including investments in Aleppo and mines in Homs that were abandoned, exceed $120 billion.

Military Losses

1. Personnel Losses:
• Iran acknowledged losing 340 IRGC personnel since 2012.
• Over 2,000 Afghan fighters and at least 1,308 Iraqi Shia militants killed in Syria.
• More than 12,000 Iranian-backed Shiite militants killed, injured, or unable to fight.
• Around 2,000 Hezbollah militants were killed.

Israel indirectly helped Assad regime.

Israel struck weapon stockpiles southeast of Aleppo, still under Assad’s control, to prevent them from falling into rebel hands.

This marks its first airstrike linked to the recent rebel offensive, aimed at safeguarding Israeli interests without direct involvement.

NEXT STOP: HOMS

After the fall of Hama, the next major city in the Syrian opposition forces’ path is Homs, just 40 km away along the M5 highway, with only Er-Rastan and Talbiseh in between.

Er-Rastan’s terrain offers defensive advantages, with the Orontes River and a reservoir protecting its flanks.

However, Assad army’s failure to secure Hama’s flanks led to its loss, raising doubts about its ability to hold Er-Rastan.

If Syrian forces capture Homs, they gain routes to Damascus and the coastal regions, threatening key Russian bases in Tartus and Hmeimim, potentially forcing their evacuation.

I really don’t want to give this misogynistic, unwell individual attention. I didn’t know who this guy was when he started to attack me in 2020, and my knowledge of him to date is limited to things I’ve heard about him attacking other journalists. But I want to make something clear…I chose to become a truly independent journalist because I don’t want my work (which is now my hobby, yes) to be compromised.

I couldn’t care less if my desire to not be beholden to editors and agendas makes me less credible in anyone’s eyes. I also don’t care if you listen to me re: Syria, but…
This guy has never been to Syria and doesn’t speak Arabic.

I’ve been to Syria 16 times over the past decade, most recently this spring. I’ve also spent the last 5 years in Arabic lessons and near-daily study, because how can anyone claim to know anything about the middle east if they don’t speak the language? I’ve also been in touch with the same militants from the FSA-turned-SNA since 2013 and was kidnapped by one of the previous iterations of this group of democracy-minded liberators currently in control of Aleppo. So, I’d assert that my insights are a bit more grounded in reality.

Follow who you want, read what you want…but know that it’s really, really not up to a bunch of people in the West to decide whether the Syrian people should be happy about a Western-backed operation to replace Assad with reskinned al-Qaeda.
