X is the top platform for news consumption, according to a new Pew Research study.

65% of X users use the platform to keep up with news, more than any other social media site.

50% of X users regularly get news there, compared to 40% on TikTok, 37% on Facebook, and 30% on Instagram.

75% of X users see breaking news in real-time, versus 58% on Facebook, 55% on TikTok, and 44% on Instagram.

79% of X users report seeing news articles, showcasing X’s dominance in delivering timely and reliable updates from journalists.

🚨 STUDY: EARTH’S INNER CORE SLOWING DOWN

Scientists have confirmed that Earth’s inner core, a solid iron-nickel sphere roughly the size of the moon, is moving slower.

This slowdown, which began around 2010, is influenced by the liquid outer core’s churning and gravitational interactions with the mantle.

The study analyzed seismic data from 121 repeating earthquakes around the South Sandwich Islands, as well as data from Soviet and French nuclear tests.

The change could alter the length of a day by 0.001 seconds, almost lost in the noise of Earth’s oceans and atmosphere.
