On May 26, Japanese PM Fumio met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Seoul at the Japan-China-ROK Trilateral Summit.

They agreed to promote cooperation in areas like the green economy and healthcare and discussed resuming Japanese beef and rice exports to China.

Kishida raised concerns about regional security, including the East China Sea, military activities, and peace in the Taiwan Strait.

They agreed to accelerate talks on the discharge of treated water into the sea and called for the release of Japanese nationals detained in China.

Kishida also met with ROK President Yoon, emphasizing the importance of strategic discussions, youth exchanges, and economic cooperation.

They agreed to work closely on North Korea with the US and at the UN Security Council.
