Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman announced plans to enrich and sell uranium, including producing “yellowcake” for nuclear fuel.

While Riyadh aims to diversify its energy mix, nuclear ambitions spark scrutiny, especially after Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s 2018 statement about developing nuclear weapons if Iran does.

The kingdom plans to shift to stricter U.N. nuclear oversight but has yet to launch its first reactor, keeping its program under limited international monitoring.
