President Yoon Suk Yeol plans to establish the Ministry of Low Birth Rate Counter-planning after the nation’s fertility rate dropped to a historic 0.72 in 2023.

“We will mobilize all of the nation’s capabilities to overcome the low birth rate, which can be considered a national emergency.”

He has urged the mobilization of all resources to tackle this demographic crisis.
