Qur’an is the message of Allah for the mankind. Its the last word of wisdom from Allah–ultimate and final. Qur’an is in the form of speech. The sacred book was not sent for any particular period, area or community. Its the last word of wisdom for the human being for every period. Qur’an has 6236 verses, 558 rukus, 114 chapters, and 30 para’s. The first chapter is Al-Fatiha(The Opening). Its the greatest Surah in Qur’an. The first Surah is not the part of any parah of the Qur’an.

The first chapter Al-Fatiha comprises seven verses. Its an excellent prayer. A part of the surah is the praise of Allah and the remaining part tells us about the way of asking guidance from Allah. This chapter is divided between Allah and the worshippers. Our Prayer is not complete without reciting this surah. In this chapter there is a sentence, “Show us the straight path.” Whole the Qur’an describes briefly the straight path. The description of the straight path is from chapter second to chapter 114..

Qur’an gives us a code of conduct. It shows us the way of life. It tells us about do’s and don’ts. Those who follow commands of the Qur’an are called muslims. The Qur’an was sent down by Allah to Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) through Jibrail(an angel) in different parts on different occasions. The verses of Qur’an came to the prophet in 23 years. It was sent down in the month of Ramadhan. The verses of Qur’an came to the Prophet in other months also (as per requirement) but initially it was sent down in the month of Ramadhan.

The month of Ramadhan is very important because the Qur’an was sent down in this month. Qur’an is the prose in poetic language and style. It has a flow of a poetry but its not poetry at all. Its a sophisticated and comprehensive book that guides in every walk of life. It has nothing to do with ancient or modern period. Its equally important for all ages and every man. No amendment is possible by a human being in the book of Allah. The commands of Allah can’t be changed by anyone. Man passes through the stages of changes in many fields, a man’s mind is not perfect but the same is not the case with Allah. No one should think even in dreams about any “reform” in the Qur’an.

When the Qur’an was about to complete and the life of the Apostle entered the last stage, the last message was sent on ‘Arfa Day’ the 9th day of Dhul-Hijja. The message was—
” This day I have perfected your religion for you, completed my favour upon you, and chosen for you Islam as your religion.

Qur’an is the masterpiece of Arabic literature. Arabic is in its best form in the Holy Qur’an. Its the best example of the beauty of language.

Qur’an deals with every walk of life. A real muslim must understand and try to practice the Qur’an. We the muslims must believe in all the commands of Qur’an. Its the duty of muslims to understand Qur’an and explain it to whole the world. We must propogate the message of Allah. Its the universal message. Its for all human beings and all ages. Its full and final message of Allah. Everyone should read it, everyone is accountable for it.

The main points of Qur’an are——
1- Its the book of Allah. 2- The guide to right path. 3- A perfect social system of equality and justice. 4- The foundation of simple living and high thinking. 5- A code of conduct suitable for all communities places and eras. 6- The light in the abyss of darkness. 7- The message of peace of the mind and heart. 8- It gives the meaning and a cause to all morals and values of life. As a follower of Qur’an we must believe in–

1-Oneness of Allah (Tauheed). 2- Muhammed (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is the Prophet of Allah. 3- We shall be responsible for all our deeds before Allah on the Day Of Judgement. People will be rewarded or punished according to their deeds.
Qur’an is the light in the darkness of ignorance. We all should be impartial and study Qur’an seriously and think on the ground of reality about our eternal life.. The life after death is the beginning of real life. Its a reality that our life which is actually a soul or energy will never come to an end. The eternal life will be the result of all our deeds in our present and temporary life. Its just a life of our examination.
