Putin, during a visit from UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, described the relationship between Russia and the UAE as a “strategic partnership” and expressed gratitude for the UAE’s mediation in prisoner exchanges with Ukraine.

The two leaders are set to discuss the escalating violence in the Middle East, including conflicts in Gaza and southern Lebanon, and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

On Friday, both nations helped facilitate a prisoner exchange, marking the UAE’s ninth such mediation effort.
