A massive study on Bay Area foods has revealed some surprising insights about plastic contamination.

These plastic chemicals, including phthalates and bisphenols, are linked to hormone disruption, developmental issues, and potential reproductive harm in humans.

Plastic chemicals were found in 86% of the foods tested, with phthalates in 73% and bisphenols in 22%.

Even baby foods and prenatal vitamins weren’t exempt.

Hot foods left in takeout containers for 45 minutes showed 34% higher levels of plastic chemicals compared to fresh dishes.

Shockingly, 1950s Army rations also contained significant levels of plastic chemicals.

The twist? Almost all the foods tested are still within US FDA and EU safety regulations.
