🇺🇸NEW BILL TO LIMIT HEAVY METALS IN BABY FOOD

U.S. lawmakers will introduce the Baby Food Safety Act of 2024 to empower the FDA to set strict limits on heavy metals like lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury.

A 2019 report found 95% of baby foods contained lead, with some testing positive for all four metals.

Recent tests also revealed high lead levels in applesauce and Lunchables, raising concerns about why this bill doesn’t cover all children’s foods.

These neurotoxins can harm developing brains, causing long-term intellectual and behavioral issues.

The bill aims to boost FDA enforcement and establish strict testing standards.
