Netanyahu claimed that Hitler initially sought to expel, not exterminate, Jews but was persuaded by Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, to implement the Holocaust.

“Hitler didn’t want to exterminate the Jews at the time; he wanted to expel the Jews, and Haj Amin al-Husseini went to Hitler and said, if you expel them, they’ll all come here.

So, what should I do with them?

He said burn them.”

His assertion sparked widespread criticism and was contradicted by historical records, which show that the Holocaust was already in progress by the time of their meeting in 1941.
