According to Israeli officials, a team of mid-ranking envoys has arrived in the city to begin negotiations with Hamas over the ceasefire agreement.
Israel’s sending of mid-level rather than senior-level officials is being taken as an indication that a final agreement is still a long way off.

🇺🇸🇮🇱BIDEN HOLDING BACK WEAPONS TO TEACH NETANYAHU A LESSON
According to U.S officials, Biden is refusing to sign off on a shipment to Israel of Boeing’s Joint Direct Attack Munitions, a type of high precision bomb, to send a “political message” to Netanyahu.
Although they are not refusing the sale, they are holding off on various aspects of the approval process, which marks the first time the Biden administration has delayed arms shipments to Israel since the Oct 7th attack.

🚨🇮🇱NETANYAHU: HAMAS WANTED TO STOP US GOING INTO RAFAH – IT DIDN’T WORK
“Last night, with the approval of the war cabinet, I ordered the operation in Rafah. Within hours, our forces raised the Israeli flags at the Rafah crossing and lowered the Hamas flags.
The operation in Rafah serves two major war goals. The return of our abductees and the elimination of Hamas. We have already proven that in the previous release of the abductees.
Torpedoing the entry of our forces into Rafah did not happen as the war cabinet determined unanimously the Hamas proposal was very far from the necessary demands of Israel. Israel will not allow Hamas to restore its evil rule in the Strip. Israel will not allow it to restore its military capabilities in order to continue striving for our destruction.
Israel cannot accept a proposal that endangers the security of citizens and the future of our country, and that’s why I guided the delegation that went to Cairo to continue to stand firm on the conditions necessary for the release of our abductees. Continue to stand firm on the essential requirements for ensuring Israel’s security.
The removal of Hamas, including the elimination of the four terrorist battalions in Rafah, is an important step to damage the governmental capabilities of Hamas.
I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the last few days. For the spirit of fighting and bravery for everything they did and everything they will do in the future. I send them a warm hug on behalf of all the citizens of Israel.

Israeli Defense Minister Gallant:
“Yesterday, I ordered the IDF to enter the Rafah area, seize the crossing, and carry out its tasks. This operation will continue until we eliminate Hamas in the Rafah area and the entire Gaza Strip or until the first abductee returns.
We are ready to make compromises in order to bring hostages, but if that option is not available, we will go and deepen the operation; this will happen all over the strip – in the south, in the center, and in the north.
Hamas only understands force, so we will intensify our action, and the military pressure will result in us crushing the Hamas organization.”
