🇱🇧 Haaretz Report:

The Israeli army believes that the ongoing operation against Lebanon must continue, with growing support for a ground invasion. Military officials argue this is the only way to safely return residents to northern settlements. They also warn that if the fighting stops now, Iran could help Hezbollah rebuild its capabilities, which have been significantly damaged over the past two weeks. The army emphasizes that its ground forces have gained considerable experience from the 11 months of fighting in Gaza and are confident they can replicate this success in Lebanon.

🇱🇧 Ground War Imminent? “Greater Israel Includes Lebanon”

A recent article in the Jerusalem Post revisits the controversial question: Is Lebanon part of Israel’s promised territory? Citing interpretations from the Torah and the concept of a “Greater Israel,” the article suggests that Lebanon, or parts of it, fall within the boundaries promised to Israel in ancient texts.

The concept of “Greater Israel” is often tied to the land described in the Covenant with Abraham (Brit Bein HaBetarim), stretching from the “River of Egypt” (interpreted as either the Nile or a smaller river in Sinai) to the Euphrates River. This expansive region encompasses parts of modern-day Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq.

It concludes, “If one looks at a map, they will be astounded by how far north this river extends and how vast the Land of Israel truly is. While we may not be able to reclaim all of it in our time, Hashem will surely return it to us soon.”
