Trump claims Japan blocks U.S. cars and rice, but Japan says that’s flat-out wrong.

Japanese Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishiba:

“President Trump says no U.S. cars are running in Japan and that we are not importing (U.S.) rice.

That could be based on misunderstanding or misinformation.”

In reality, U.S. rice imports are at record highs as Japanese rice prices soar.

With Trump’s 24% tariff pause set to expire next week, tensions are rising, but Japan insists negotiations are moving forward.

Japan’s Prime Minister Ishiba may head to D.C. to meet Trump before the G7, hoping to dodge upcoming 24% tariffs.

Talks are heating up after multiple trips by Japan’s top negotiator, with signs the U.S. is actually listening.

Japan’s top negotiator says talks are moving fast, and the U.S. seems into it, especially with Japan offering to buy more military gear and fix up U.S. warships.

But no deal’s happening unless America backs off car tariffs.
