Israeli occupation army officials accuse Netanyahu of neglecting the army to achieve political progress & save the government

General Reserve in the occupation army, Gadi Shamni, former commander of the #Gaza Division, said during his participation in a cultural event in Beersheba (Saturday), that entering Rafah comes with a political motive.

He said: “I am almost certain that this process is happening only because Ben Gvir and Smotrich threatened that if we did not take action in Rafah, the government would fall.”

Shamni added, “The question arises, at what stage should the Commander-in-Chief of the Army hit the table and perhaps also go out to the public.” He explained: “Sending soldiers into battle for political purposes crosses red lines.”

The former Gaza band leader pointed out, “It is not common to talk about this day, but we will not be able to avoid searching for a solution to the Palestinian issue, and whoever does not think in this way buries his head in the sand.”

He explained, “There are extremists among us, and their goal is to lead us to escalation. For them, the worse the matter is, the more it contributes to supporting their extremist views. For example, the worse the matter is, the greater the chances for Smotrich to implement his plan, which is to displace the Arabs.” .

Meanwhile, Hebrew media said that the occupation army accuses Netanyahu’s government of not exploiting operational achievements in Gaza to achieve political progress.

The Hebrew Walla website confirmed that army estimates indicate that achievements in Gaza may be eroded as negotiations on the return of prisoners falter.

The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported, “The failure to achieve political achievements on the ground during the war in the Gaza Strip made the army take the decision to return to Jabalia, despite saying that the Palestinian resistance factions there had been eliminated.”

Meanwhile, thousands of Israelis demonstrated on Saturday in several cities to demand a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas and early elections.

The families of the Israeli prisoners in Gaza accused the Netanyahu government of “abandoning their children and letting them die,” after the Al-Qassam Brigades announced the death of Nadav Boublabel, their prisoner, who held British citizenship, as a result of his injury as a result of an Israeli bombing more than a month ago.

The Israeli occupation army has continued its aggression against the Gaza Strip since October 7, with American and European support, as its planes bomb the vicinity of hospitals, buildings, towers, and homes of Palestinian civilians, destroying them above the heads of their residents, and preventing the entry of water, food, medicine, and fuel.

The occupation’s continued aggression against Gaza led to the death of 34,971 martyrs and the injury of 78,641 others, in addition to the displacement of about 1.7 million people from the Strip’s population, according to United Nations data.
