The loan, partially backed by frozen Russian assets, requires the EU to extend sanctions on Russia for 3 years, but HungaryтАЩs Finance Minister Mihaly Varga stated the decision will wait until U.S. policy direction is clearer.

This move pushes final discussions on the loan contributions from G7 members to after November 5.
