FROM UKRAINE TO LEBANON — MY PERSONAL REALITY OF WAR

In February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine, and we failed to evacuate some of my company’s staff from the country, leading to a multi-month nightmare to get them and their families out.

Today, I sit helplessly on a flight to Washington, scrambling to evacuate dozens of my staff and their families.

For anyone watching Ukraine, Lebanon, or any other country at war, no words can describe the impact war can have on people like me and you.

Within hours, the lives of millions in Lebanon were turned upside down.

My thoughts go out to you all.

I hope this war ends soon, as the situation in the Middle East is on the verge of crossing a dangerous red line with global repercussions.

The next red lines?

Iran sending troops to Lebanon.

Israel invading Lebanon.

The latter is highly likely and expected by many.

The former could have unimaginable consequences, and the likely total destruction of Lebanon as Iran and Israel enter an all-out war.

There’s still a chance for a ceasefire deal, however, the chances for this are getting slimmer by the minute.
