🇪🇺🇺🇦EUROPE FAILS TO REACH DEAL ON UKRAINE AID AND DEFENSE PLANS

Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever:

“Countries calling for the confiscation of frozen Russian assets should be aware of the economic risks. This could shock the global financial system.”

EU leaders ended emergency talks without a deal on Ukraine aid or military spending.

While some nations push to seize $227B in Russian assets for Kyiv, Germany and France warn of legal and financial consequences.

Hungary reportedly blocked a united statement on Ukraine, deepening divisions.

🇺🇦🇪🇺ZELENSKY THANKS EU AT CRISIS SUMMIT: ‘WE ARE NOT ALONE’

Zelensky expressed gratitude to EU leaders in Brussels for standing by Kyiv, as the bloc launched urgent talks to counter Trump’s pivot away from Ukraine and transatlantic allies.

Zelensky:

“We are very thankful that we are not alone, and these are not just words.

We feel it—it’s very important.”

EU chief Ursula von der Leyen called it a “watershed moment,” unveiling a €800B plan to “ReArm Europe” against Russia, while France’s Macron pushed for a defense surge.

With U.S. aid on hold, Britain and France propose a one-month truce and a “coalition of the willing” to secure peace.

With Trump casting doubt on U.S support for Ukraine, EU leaders are meeting in Brussels today to try and devise a ceasefire deal before Washington and Moscow dictate the terms.

Macron claimed the U.S has “changed its position,” fueling fears of a forced settlement.

They are also expected to largely endorse the €800bn “ReArm Europe” plan outlined by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen earlier this week.

🇺🇦 ZELENSKYY: PEACE CANNOT MEAN UKRAINE’S CAPITULATION

Zelenskyy thanked
@EmmanuelMacron
for supporting Ukraine, emphasizing that peace must be “real, not just a word.”

He rejected any resolution that involves Ukraine’s surrender or collapse, insisting that lasting peace requires strong, long-term security guarantees for Ukraine, Europe, and beyond.

He also praised those bolstering Ukraine’s defense and vowed to continue working toward stability.

As diplomatic talks intensify, Ukraine is making it clear: peace must be built on strength, not submission.

The next steps in this effort will unfold in the coming days.
