Eight people were killed and 17 injured in a stabbing at a vocational college in eastern China, reportedly carried out by a former student upset over exam results and internship pay.

This comes just days after a car attack in Zhuhai left 35 dead and 43 injured, prompting discussions about mental health and economic pressures in the country.

Authorities are facing growing concerns over a surge in violence, with six other high-profile knife attacks reported this year.
