🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: NEW SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED FUNGAL INFECTION DETECTED IN NYC

Health experts are warning about a new sexually transmitted fungal infection, TMVII, detected in New York City—the first case in the US.

TMVII, or Trichophyton mentagrophytes Genotype VII, can cause severe skin infections, leading to symptoms like intense itching, redness, and rashes around the genital area, groin, and buttocks.

Dr. Susan Hopkins from the CDC:

“This new fungal infection represents a significant public health concern, requiring immediate action and comprehensive screening.”

The NYC Health Department emphasizes the need for increased STI screening and awareness.
