Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen Herzi Halevi held urgent talks with top military leaders as large forces in Syria prepare to enter the city of Hama.

The IDF says it’s monitoring developments and preparing for any scenario, emphasizing it will block any threats near the Syrian-Israeli border.

IDF:

“We will work to thwart any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel.”
