The U.S. ArmyтАЩs 18th Airborne Corps is utilizing AI-powered technology for the first time in a hurricane relief effort.

Using the Maven Smart System, the Army is mapping road closures, cellular outages, and supply needs in real time to assist FEMA and U.S. Northern Command.

This battlefield capability, originally designed to detect targets, is now helping speed up relief efforts and decision-making during Hurricane Helene recovery.

The AI system is expected to play a role in future natural disaster responses.
