🚨🇮🇱BREAKING: GANTZ RESIGNS FROM ISRAELI GOVT

Benny Gantz, a key member of Israel’s war cabinet, has resigned from Netanyahu’s government.

The move fulfills an ultimatum Gantz gave Netanyahu to present a new plan for the war against Hamas.

Gantz’s resignation comes despite Netanyahu’s plea for unity after the recent rescue of four hostages from Gaza.

The departure won’t collapse the coalition but leaves the war cabinet without non-Likud representation.

Pressure is mounting on Netanyahu to end the 8-month war, with Gantz calling for early elections and a comprehensive plan to address the conflict.

🚨🇮🇱GANTZ TO ANNOUNCE PARTY’S EXIT FROM ISRAELI GOVT

National Unity chairman Benny Gantz will hold a press conference today at 1:30 p.m. ET, after canceling a Saturday announcement of his party’s exit from the government.

The delay was a tactical move following the rescue of four Israeli hostages from Gaza.

Last month, Gantz threatened to withdraw unless Netanyahu committed to an agreed vision for Gaza by June 8.

Though National Unity’s 6 seats won’t outright collapse Netanyahu’s 64-seat majority, it represents a major blow after the PM’s plea for continued unity was ignored by Gantz, who cited unresolved “challenges” requiring reevaluation.
