🚨 🇹🇷 TURKISH RIOT POLICE VIOLENTLY ATTACK PROTESTERS AS ISTANBUL UNREST INTENSIFIES

Footage shows Turkish riot police kicking and physically assaulting anti-Erdogan demonstrators in Istanbul as authorities move to crush the growing protest movement.

The violent crackdown escalates tensions in what’s become Turkey’s largest protests in over a decade, sparked by the imprisonment of popular Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu on disputed corruption charges.

Erdogan previously labeled the demonstrations “street terror” while government officials have warned of “no tolerance” for continued unrest.

🚨 🇹🇷 TURKISH RIOT POLICE LAUNCH MASS ARRESTS AS ISTANBUL PROTESTS ESCALATE

Turkish riot police have reportedly begun mass arrests of anti-Erdogan protesters in Istanbul, targeting demonstrators rallying against the imprisonment of Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.

The crackdown follows earlier police response with pepper spray, water cannons, and tear gas against tens of thousands who defied government bans on gathering.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya had already detained hundreds of protesters after Saturday’s demonstrations, warning of “no tolerance” for those “pursuing chaos.”

President Erdogan has denounced the protests as “street terror” while Imamoglu remains jailed on corruption charges his supporters call politically motivated.

🚨🇹🇷 ISTANBUL PROTESTS GROW AFTER MAYOR IMAMOĞLU’S ARREST

Thousands have gathered outside Istanbul City Hall for consecutive nights following Ekrem İmamoğlu’s arrest on March 19.

Supporters defy a government ban on public gatherings, calling the charges politically motivated.

🇹🇷BREAKING: ISTANBUL MAYOR JAILED ON CORRUPTION CHARGES

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, who could challenge President Erdogan in Turkey’s next election, has been jailed pending trial.

He’s accused of corruption and suspected of having ties to Kurdish militants, though terror charges will be handled in a separate case.

A Turkish court also jailed at least 20 others on Sunday as part of the same corruption investigation.

Imamoglu defeated Erdogan’s party in Istanbul’s 2019 election — a result Erdogan has never fully accepted.

🚨🇹🇷 ISTANBUL MAYOR IN COURT AS ERDOGAN CRACKS DOWN — PROTESTS ERUPT

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, a key rival to President Erdogan, appeared in court today after his Wednesday arrest for alleged corruption and terrorism.

Thousands protested in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

Police fired tear gas, pepper spray, and water cannons at crowds throwing firecrackers and other objects.

Imamoglu denied all charges during questioning, calling them “unimaginable slanders” meant to protect those in power.

His CHP party called the arrest political.

Imamoglu was days away from being named their presidential candidate.

Erdogan accused CHP of trying to divide the country.
