A new AI model can analyze speech patterns from cognitive tests to predict if mild cognitive impairment (MCI) will progress to Alzheimer’s within six years—with over 78% accuracy.

The study, part of the Framingham Heart Study, used speech transcripts from 166 participants and could revolutionize early dementia diagnosis by providing an affordable, remote testing tool.

Researchers aim to refine the model further and expand testing to more diverse populations.
