A 6,000-year-old copper “crown” from a Dead Sea cave.🇮🇱
The “crown” was discovered in 1961 as part of the Nahal Mishmar Hoard in a cave in the Judean Desert near the Dead Sea.
The ancient cast crown dates back to the Copper Age between 4500–3500 BC. The crown is shaped like a thick small copper ring with square gate-like openings and figures of birds attached to its top edge.
At present the “crown” is more considered to be rather a model of some enclosure, and a ceremonial miniature of an excarnation site.
