Gulf University Delegation Visits Department of Commerce to Strengthen Academic Collaboration
Aligarh, December 14: A delegation from Gulf University, Kingdom of Bahrain, visited the Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), to explore avenues for academic and research collaboration. The visit, led by Prof. Mohanad Al Firas, President of Gulf University, and Dr. Tanvir Mahmoud Hussein, Head of Accreditation & Ranking, aimed to foster international partnerships and knowledge exchange in emerging fields of education and research.

The delegation was received by faculty members, research scholars, and senior administrators. During their visit, discussions focused on potential collaborations, including Joint research initiatives in Human Resource Management and Accounting; Faculty and student exchange programs; Organizing international workshops, seminars, and conferences and developing curricula aligned with global industry trends.

Representing Gulf University, Prof. Mohanad Al Firas, President, praised the Department of Commerce for its accomplishments, advanced infrastructure, and dedication to academic excellence. He expressed keen interest in exploring collaborative opportunities and emphasized Gulf University’s commitment in promoting a sustainable partnership.
Dr. Tanvir Mahmoud Hussein, Head of Accreditation & Ranking at Gulf University, Kingdom of Bahrain, elaborated on potential joint initiatives, such as research collaborations and exchange programs.

Professor SM Imamul Haque, Chairman of the Department of Commerce, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “This visit marks a significant step toward building a long-term partnership between Gulf University and AMU”.

Professor Mohd. Asif Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Director of the Centre for Professional Courses, highlighted the department’s ongoing initiatives and its commitment to academic innovation. He emphasized the importance of global partnerships.
The visit, coordinated by Professor Nawab Ali Khan, former Chairman and Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, concluded with a vote of thanks and an exchange of mementos. Both institutions expressed a shared commitment to formalizing the collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the near future.
