🚨🇸🇾 Statement Issued by the General Command of the Syrian Army and Armed Forces

In recent days, terrorist armed groups affiliated with the so-called “Jabhat al-Nusra” organization, supported by thousands of foreign militants, heavy weaponry, and numerous drones, launched a wide-scale attack from multiple directions targeting the fronts of Aleppo and Idlib. Our armed forces engaged in fierce battles across various points of conflict along a frontline exceeding 100 kilometers to halt their advance. These clashes resulted in dozens of our soldiers being martyred and others injured.

The large number of terrorists and the multiplicity of battlefronts prompted our armed forces to implement a strategic redeployment aimed at reinforcing defensive lines, protecting the lives of civilians and soldiers, and preparing for a counteroffensive.

With the continued influx of terrorists across the northern borders and the intensification of military and technical support for them, the terrorist groups managed in recent hours to penetrate large parts of Aleppo’s neighborhoods. However, they were unable to establish solid footholds due to the ongoing targeted and intense strikes by our forces. This effort is underway as we complete the deployment of reinforcements across combat fronts in preparation for a decisive counterattack.

The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces emphasizes that this measure is temporary and reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our people in Aleppo. It will continue its operations and fulfill its national duty to confront terrorist groups, expel them, and restore full control of the city and its countryside to the state and its institutions.
