Governor Newsom has called a special session to “protect California values,” claiming that under the incoming Trump administration, “freedoms we hold dear in California are under attack — and we won’t sit idle.”

Newsom’s plan? Lawfare…

Bolster the state’s legal defenses to “keep moving forward,” pouring resources into the DOJ to brace for the yet-unknown federal policies.

With vague threats and a pile of legal funds, Newsom’s “defense” plan seems less about protecting Californians and more about flexing his courtroom muscles for the spotlight.
