🚨🇬🇧BREAKING: FIRST UK CASE OF DEADLY MPOX VARIANT DETECTED IN LONDON

The UK Health Security Agency confirmed the first UK case of the potentially deadly Clade Ib mpox variant.

The infected individual returned from Africa and developed symptoms shortly after.

Though the public risk is considered low, they are being treated at a specialized unit, and fewer than ten close contacts are being traced.

Mpox only spreads through close contact, and further contact tracing efforts are underway.
