🇹🇭 THAILAND TO NOMINATE NEW PM

Thailand’s governing coalition has agreed to nominate 37-year-old Paetongtarn Shinawatra as candidate for prime minister ahead of a parliamentary vote.

Paetongtarn is the youngest of billionaire political heavyweight Thaksin Shinawatra’s three children and the nominal leader of Pheu Thai, the biggest group in an 11-party coalition.

The 500-member elected House of Representatives is scheduled to hold a special session to choose a new leader after former PM Srettha was removed from office by the nation’s Constitutional Court for an ethical violation.
