ЁЯЪиSTUDY: CROWS CAN COUNT LIKE TODDLERS

Carrion crows can control their vocalizations and match them to numerical cues, similar to how toddlers learn to count.

Crows displayed 100% accuracy in response to the number one, over 60% accuracy for number two, over 50% for three, and about 40% for four.

This ability, previously seen only in humans, demonstrates advanced cognitive skills in crows.

The study took over a year, with crows trained to associate numbers and sounds with corresponding vocalizations.

Errors fell into two categories: stutters and skips, indicating that crows generally started with the correct plan in mind.
