🚨🇺🇳🇵🇸BREAKING: UN PASSES RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF PALESTINIAN MEMBERSHIP

The UN General Assembly overwhelmingly passed a resolution for the UN Security Council to reconsider and support the full membership of Palestine into the United Nations.

One hundred forty-three countries voted in favor of the resolution, nine voted against it, and 25 countries abstained from voting.

🚨🇺🇳🇵🇸UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY SET TO RECOMMEND PALESTINE’S FULL MEMBER STATUS

Later today, the General Assembly is expected to vote overwhelmingly in favor of a draft text recommending the Security Council reconsider Palestine’s application for full member status.

It comes after the U.S vetoed a previous Security Council resolution recommending their full membership of the UN on April 18th.

The U.S sees thie vote as an attempt by several nations to bypass the Security Council since no country has a veto right in the General Assembly.

“What we are concerned about is the precedent it sets. There is clearly outlined in the UN Charter, the procedure and the process for obtaining full membership in the United Nations and I think any process that goes around that, to us is very concerning and I think all UN member states should be concerned.”
