जम्मू-कश्मीर के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री फ़ारूक़ अब्दुल्ला ने ईवीएम पर सवाल खड़े किए हैं.

समाचार एजेंसी एएनाई के अनुसार, उनसे जब एक पत्रकार ने बीजेपी की जीत की वजहों के बारे में पूछा तो उन्होंने कहा, “मुबारक हो बीजेपी को. और क्या कहूंगा मैं. वो भी दिन था जब कांग्रेस के राजीव गांधी ने 400 से ज़्यादा सीटें जीत ली थी. याद है? क्या हुआ उसके बाद. वक़्त बदलने में वक़्त नहीं लगता.”

नेशनल कॉन्फ्रेंस के नेता ने कहा, “देखिए मैं आपसे कहूं, ईवीएम को देखना पड़ेगा. अगर हमें ज़ल्दी चुनाव जीतना है तो इसको ठीक करने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए. जो आप वोट डालें वही निकले वहां से.”

“जब ये ईवीएम मशीन आई थी तो मैं कश्मीर का मुख्यमंत्री था. तब मैंने ये सवाल किया था कि क्या इसमें चोरी हो सकती है. तो उस समय चुनाव आयोग के जो कर्मी मशीन के साथ आए थे उन्होंने ये माना था कि इसमें चोरी हो सकती है.”

अब्दुल्ला ने कहा, “सवाल ये है कि आप मानो या न मानो, इस मशीन को ठीक करने की कोशिश करनी पड़ेगी.”

समय आ गया है सभी विपक्षी दल जिनकी राज्यो में सरकारें हैं वह विधानसभा में बिल पास करें और चुनाव आयोग को सूचित करें कि राज्य में अब सभी चुनाव मतपत्र से होने चाहिए और सभी दल एकजुट हो सुप्रीम कोर्ट में अपील करें ताकि सरकार मजबूर हो कर #EVM बिल में संशोधन करके #मतपत्र से चुनाव करवाये।

German Court Called EVM Unconstitutional

A Lesson For Supreme Court of India

— The #German Constitutional Court ruled in 2009 that the use of #EVM violated the constitutional principle of transparency of elections, which requires that the voting process be open and verifiable by the public.

— The Court also stated that the use of #EVM posed a very wide-reaching effect of possible errors of the voting machines or of deliberate electoral fraud, which made special precautions necessary in order to safeguard the principle of the public nature of elections.

— The Court suggested that a complementary examination by the voter, by the electoral bodies or the general public could be possible with electronic voting machines in which the votes are recorded in another way beside electronic storage, such as paper ballots or optical scanners.

— The Court ruling effectively banned the use of #EVM in #Germany, and sparked a debate and a reform of the electoral law, which aimed to enhance the transparency and security of the voting process.

— The risk of errors and manipulation of EVM was not merely hypothetical, as there were several reports and studies that demonstrated the vulnerabilities and flaws of the #EVM that were used in #Germany.

💥 For example, in 2006, a group of computer scientists from the Chaos Computer Club (CCC), a hacker association, managed to hack and manipulate the NEDAP voting machines that were used in the 2005 general election.

💥 The hackers showed that they could alter the software of the machines, change the votes, and even play chess on the machines, without being detected.

💥 The hackers also revealed that the machines had poor security features, such as weak encryption, no authentication, and no audit logs.

💥 The hackers concluded that the machines were not suitable for elections, and that they could be easily compromised by anyone with basic technical skills and access to the machines.
