🇺🇸🇮🇳 INDIA OFFERS ZERO TARIFFS ON U.S. STEEL, PHARMA AND AUTOS—IF WASHINGTON PLAYS BALL

India has just put a bold offer on the table: zero tariffs on key U.S. exports—pharmaceuticals, steel, and auto parts—in a bid to ease trade tensions and reboot stalled negotiations.

But there’s a catch: it’s strictly reciprocal and capped to specific volumes.

India’s goal?

De-escalate the tariff war, protect its own exporters, and carve out a win in an increasingly protectionist global market.

The proposal reflects growing pressure from Indian industry, which has been calling for a “zero-for-zero” regime since April.

Whether Washington bites is another question—especially under a White House that’s made tariff leverage central to its economic policy.
