3,600 KILLED IN MYANMAR EARTHQUAKE — RESCUE TEAMS BLOCKED BY MILITARY RULES
A huge 7.7 earthquake hit Myanmar on March 28, killing at least 3,600 people and injuring more than 5,000.
Over 160 people are still missing, and the number keeps rising.
In the worst-hit area, Sagaing Region, 693 deaths were reported — but rescue teams say the real number could be higher.
Locals are forced to dig through rubble by hand because there’s no heavy machinery, like backhoes, available.
Worse, rescue groups can’t act without permission from the military government, which makes them submit building addresses before helping.
Many people are dying just because help can’t get there fast enough.

MYANMAR QUAKE TOLL HITS 3,471 AS RAINS BATTER SURVIVORS IN TENT CAMPS
Deadly rains are pounding Myanmar just days after a catastrophic 7.7 magnitude quake killed 3,471 and injured over 4,600 people.
In Mandalay and Sagaing—regions already devastated—tents are collapsing, aid is delayed, and fears of cholera outbreaks are growing. UN officials warn the crisis is “epic,” compounding war, hunger, and displacement.
Over 5,000 buildings and hundreds of schools, temples, bridges, and hospitals are destroyed.
Communications remain cut off in many areas.
Meanwhile, Myanmar’s military is accused of bombing civilians even after declaring a ceasefire—fueling chaos as survivors plead for food, shelter, and basic aid.

MYANMAR EARTHQUAKE DEATH TOLL HITS 2,886 AS CRISIS DEEPENS
The devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar last week has now claimed 2,886 lives, with 4,639 injured and 373 still missing.
The disaster, centered near Mandalay, has flattened entire communities, leaving hospitals overwhelmed and survivors in desperate need of aid in the middle of a civil war that’s already displaced millions.
With the monsoon season looming, the United Nations warns that the window for life-saving relief is closing fast—yet the military junta’s control and ongoing conflict are blocking critical humanitarian efforts.
