SON OF MEXICAN CARTEL BOSS SENTENCED TO LIFE IN U.S. PRISON

Rubén “El Menchito” Oseguera, son of CJNG cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera, has been sentenced to life in prison for drug trafficking and orchestrating brutal killings.

Prosecutors say he ordered at least 100 murders, personally killed 6 people, and commanded an attack that downed a Mexican military helicopter, killing 9.

The judge called him a “drug kingpin” and ordered him to forfeit over $6 billion in cartel proceeds.

His father remains at large, with a $15M bounty on his capture.

MEXICAN CARTEL LEADER’S SON CONVICTED FOR VIOLENT DRUG TRAFFICKING ROLE

Rubén Oseguera, known as “El Menchito” and son of Jalisco New Generation cartel boss Nemesio Oseguera, was convicted Friday for his violent role in his father’s drug trafficking operations, including the downing of a military helicopter.

Oseguera, once second-in-command of the CJNG cartel, was extradited to the U.S. in 2020.
