China claims Australia “deliberately provoked” it after a Chinese J-16 jet released flares just 30 meters from an Australian patrol aircraft in international airspace.

Beijing calls Australia the “villain,” pushing false narratives, while Australia insists its patrol was lawful and necessary to uphold freedom of navigation.

Tensions rise as China tightens control over the South China Sea—Australia warns such encounters are becoming increasingly dangerous.
