🚨🇺🇸 4.6 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE STRIKES CALIFORNIA—MORE SHAKING LIKELY

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck Bombay Beach, 120 miles northeast of San Diego, at 10:26 AM PT (1:30 PM ET), with tremors felt across the wider region.

The USGS warns of a 90% chance of aftershocks above 3.0 in the next week, with a 4% chance of a stronger 5.0+ quake.

Sitting on the San Andreas Fault, the region faces the looming threat of the “Big One”, a catastrophic 8.0+ earthquake scientists say is increasingly likely in the next 30 years.

No injuries or damage reported—yet.
