🇷🇺 RUSSIA RESTARTS GAS PLANT IN ARCTIC—DESPITE U.S. SANCTIONS

A massive Russian gas facility in the Arctic, Arctic LNG 2, is firing back up after being frozen by U.S. and EU sanctions.

The site is crucial to Russia’s plan to sell more natural gas worldwide—but sanctions have blocked sales and scared off buyers since 2023.

Now, the company behind it, Novatek, is trying to quietly restart operations while hoping the next U.S. administration eases pressure.

The endgame?

Russia wants to control 20% of global liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports by 2035.
