Coincidence? Or a political crackdown? CHAOS IN TÜRKIYE : REPORT

Mass protests have erupted in Istanbul after Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu’s arrest on corruption and “terror” charges.

Many say it’s a political move to SILENCE Erdogan’s biggest rival…

Imamoglu, a rising star in Türkiye’s opposition, defeated Erdogan’s party twice in Istanbul’s elections — a major blow to Erdogan’s grip on power.

Now, just months before elections, he’s been arrested.

Coincidence? Or a political crackdown?

The charges? Corruption and alleged ties to “terrorist” groups — accusations often used to silence critics in Türkiye.

But many believe this is about one thing:

POWER.

Imamoglu posed a REAL threat to Erdogan’s rule, and now he’s behind bars…

Protesters are chanting for justice, accusing Erdogan of using the courts to eliminate political rivals.

The atmosphere is tense, and the country feels like it’s at a tipping point.

What happens next could reshape Türkiye’s future.

Will the people’s voice be heard, or will this mark another step toward authoritarianism?

One thing is clear — the streets of Istanbul aren’t staying quiet…

The resistance continues today right across Turkey as students hit the streets to fight Erdogan and his fascist regime. Cops won’t stop us. Bootlickers won’t block us. This is what rebellion looks like.

Thousands of people including reported lawmakers are protesting and calling for Erdogan’s removal. You know what’s strange? Timing.

Coincidence doesn’t exist in politics IMHO. Interesting that Israel’s been advocating against Turkey’s influence in the region, even by lobbying Washington for Russia to keep its base in Syria to act as a barrier to Erdogan’s increasing influence.

After using HTS, they’ve been keen in keeping Erdogan out of its plans, as Greater Israel doesn’t include his Neo-Ottoman dreams and the US doesn’t want competition either. Meanwhile, Russia has been forced to deal with Turkey to a degree in spite of how awful they’ve been, so this is welcome news as Moscow intends to find some peace with the West.

Syria’s terrorist HTS regime has sent Turkey troops. Erdogan’s feeling the pressure & acted foolishly but more likely this is a way for Israel and its Western backers to diminish Turkey’s influence in the region.

If it walks like a duck & quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck.

What is happening in Turkiye?

Lebanese journalist, researcher, and Cradle columnist Mohamad Hasan Sweidan:

“This morning, Erdogan arrested the Mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is considered Erdogan’s main rival for the presidency. All opinion polls for years have shown İmamoğlu ahead of Erdogan, which is why many believed the Turkish opposition made a mistake by not nominating him in the last presidential elections.

İmamoğlu’s arrest was based on accusations related to falsifying his university degree, corruption charges, and alleged support for terrorism (PKK).

Erdogan also arrested dozens of opposition leaders today on similar charges.

Erdogan believes that the current chaos in the region, global distractions, Turkiye’s expansion in Syria, and Ankara’s return to regional competition through its influence in Syria will help contain the incident. Therefore, according to Erdogan’s calculations, this was the perfect moment to eliminate his main political rival and neutralize the biggest threat to his power inside Turkiye.

Following the arrest, Turks began calling on social media for mass protests. In response, the government blocked social media platforms in Turkiye, fearing an uncontrollable backlash. Despite this, huge crowds have taken to the streets against Erdogan’s rule. The Turkish opposition holds nearly 50% of public support.

Currently, large numbers of people are protesting in Turkish streets, but there is also a flood of misinformation being spread (such as claims of a military coup or Erdogan fleeing Turkiye).

The situation in Turkiye is complex and still in its early stages. We must watch closely to see whether Erdogan will manage to contain the crisis or if the opposition will finally succeed in toppling him—something that would undoubtedly require western support. However, it’s important to note that Erdogan still holds significant power within Turkiye, making the opposition’s task extremely difficult, but not impossible.”

Military Coup in Turkey ?

People are on streets
Yesterday Turkey govt detained Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu which sparked massive Uproar

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Turkish President Erdogan’s state plane has departed for an unknown destination, fueling speculation that he may be fleeing the country as mass protests escalate.

At the same time, high-ranking Turkish military commanders have allegedly expressed support for opposition leader Ekrem İmamoğlu, raising questions about a potential political crisis at the highest levels of government.

We are still waiting for confirmed news, will keep posting updates.
